We hope that 2025 has been good for you so far! It's been a winter wonderland here in SE Michigan, with some colder-than-usual temperatures but Sarah is loving the snow! Our intention this year is to continue with our bi-monthly posts here but be a little bit more active on Instagram. We have some new products we are excited to tell you about and a new show format! Read on for more on that. So far in the the existence of this business, we have mostly done farmer's markets to sell our products in person. Some days went better than others but we had people constantly telling us that we belonged at craft shows. The thing was, we didn't really know about craft shows, other than the really big ones in Plymouth and Ann Arbor which felt like more than we could handle at this point in the business. Still, we took the advice and decided to look into them. Part of what we were doing in January was research into what we might want to do for in-person shows this year.
We found several options and decided on one "big", multi-day show and three smaller shows. The first one is actually this weekend! It's the Livingston County 4-H Tack & Craft Show. Come see us from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m at the Hartland Educational Support Service Center Gymnasium (9525 E. Highland Rd., Howell, MI 48843). You can find parking located at the West entrance. We'd love to see you there and you can see some of our new products! These include some keychains, more options for our coat racks, and some new seasonal horseshoe items. On the farm we have kind of been hunkered down because it's been in the single digits for much of January. Too cold to do much other than the bare minimum. We did install a new training fence run for our dogs in the quest to allow them to roam and not run away. All the animals are doing well and we are starting to do planning for our projects for the year. Another reason we are not doing the farmer's market schedule this year is because we have a lot of work we are hoping/needing to get done this year. We didn't want to stop shows completely but the three shows a month that we did last year was not going to work this year. We are excited to see how the craft shows go and then we can decide what we want to do going forward! Here's to 2025! Let us know what you've been up to so far and if you have any fun plans for this year. Also, what would you like to see more of here on the blog or over on Instagram? We can't promise anything but we do want to share things you're interested in!
