This past year we have started doing an intentional family night each week. With the kids being adults and having their own schedules, it's not as easy to do things together as it used to be. Some weeks it seems like we only have one or two dinners as a family! (That's rare though). While we love game or movie nights, we got this Adventure Challenge book for Christmas a few years back and decided to start going through it. The Adventure Challenge has books for families, couples, solo, and friends. Each challenge is a surprise, though they do give you clues as to what the activity might entail so you can plan a little bit. Things like how long, if it's inside or outside, how much it might cost, etc. So far we have done things like played Blind Man's Bluff/Marco Polo with marshmallows, made a family crest, wrote notes to family, buried a time capsule, and made homemade ice cream. Nothing has been too hard or long, the longest one was the crest but that was because we went pretty detailed :) It's something different and fun and we are enjoying it so far!
Have you heard of these books? Maybe you have one? What has your experience been? What do you like to do for family night?
