The woodshop is very much Mark's domain. While we don't make a lot of wood products yet, a lot still happens in this shop. For one thing, Mark is constantly making projects for us/himself that allow him to practice and try new techniques that could be used for the business one day. And of course, our forged signatures and coat racks are made in here. If you are looking for Mark, you can start with the woodshop. This year alone he has made some signs, helped a friend make a yarn bowl, and . So he does spend a good deal of time out there.
This shop also holds a lot of general use items like nails, screws, drills, and safety gear. So when there is a project that needs to be done around the farm, odds are good that some of what we need is in this shop. We got a sign for the farm and Mark made a sign post from some old beams and hooks that we had on hand. It's quite amazing what he can do with a couple of hours in his woodshop! All of these projects means that the shop is not tidy very often but we got some photos when it was cleaned right before Christmas. It is a challenge to keep something clean when you are working on several projects at once so we end up doing a major clean every few months. A fun note on our tools: Dan's father was a woodworker and all of the kids did woodworking projects with "Granddad" through the years. We inherited all of his tools and most of what you see in these photos are from his woodshop. It's fun to use family tools in our family business and we think he'd be very proud of what we are building here.
